Stamp duty changes for First Home Buyers

The NSW Government has announced changes to the thresholds for stamp duty exemptions and concessions for first home buyers purchasing  new homes or vacant land. The threshold for new homes has increased to $800,000 for exemptions, with concessions phasing out at $1 million. For vacant land the thresholds are $400,000 for exemptions and $500,000 for concessions. The changes apply to contracts entered into from 1 August 2020. Click here for the Revenue NSW media release.
